Drivers are responsible for any tolls incurred while on a trip. This does not include M50 tolls. These will be charged separately to your account once your trip is complete. Similarly the driver will be responsible for any speeding or traffic fines. Driveyou will forward on any fines received to the driver directly – additional administration charges may apply.
When a trip is booked, Driveyou will pre-authorise your chosen payment card with the agreed rate. The payment is fully completed when the trip is ended, and final journey times and kilometres are confirmed. Any further charges or penalties will be notified to the driver directly and settled through the app.
The preauthorisation charge is a check on your account at the time of booking to ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account to pay for the trip.
There is no money taken from your account at that time, rather the money is held so that it cannot be spent. Depending on your chosen bank it can take longer for the pre-authorisation charge to be released. Sometimes this appears as a pending payment on your bank account.
